Click here for all in the Retro Shirt Reviews series, which up until now has only featured one international jersey (and a fake one at that, but a loveable fake). From now on we’ll try and alternate between clubs and countries, and since we’ve had a lot of blue and whites lately, it’s definitely time for a splash of colour.

  Here we have a shirt dripping in pure tropical vibes that we think was gifted to us at the time it was out, an excellent Ecuador home shirt by Marathon in 2006 with two different sleeve colours:
  

One of the other main features are these “spines” coming up from the side, evoking imagery of the dense jungles of the country combined with the national colours:

On other side the blue appears that goes all the way up to the sleeve and collar, with thin, red border:

On said sleeve, we can see from the patch that this shirt specifically is from the time of World Cup 2010 qualifiers, near the end of the shirt life:

We have no number on the back or anything, but mandatory shot of the back anyway where you can see the blue section continue:

And that’s basically our lot, with one last thing being the blue trim on the left sleeve to match the smart round-neck collar – another nice touch to complete this under-rated, modern classic:
