A while back, via “Gif of the Day” on our Facebook and Twitter pages, we referenced the Kraków derby between KS Cracovia and Wisła Kraków and how it was known in Poland as the “Holy War”. We thought it such a good name that it inspired this new feature here on PyroOnThePitch.com, where we shall look back at supporter highlights through the years at a particularly derby – of course rightfully starting with the original Holy War.
Located less than a mile from each other, the first meetings of Kraków’s big two go back as far as 1904, displaying how deep rooted this rivalry is. The first league game came in 1935, but is it to the late 70s for our first piece of footage.
